Worship, Potluck Picnic, and Blessing of Students and Educators
We will meet at Annapolis Roads Overlook (directions below) at 11AM (note the time change) for a shorter service of Holy Communion, a blessing for our students and educators as they begin a new school year, a shared meal, and a great time of being together. There’s a play area for children (pictured below), and we’ll be on the bay, so there will be wading and swimming as well (the beach is pictured above). “Facilities” are a port-a-potty.
What to Bring:
Food: A main dish to share, and if possible, a side dish or dessert (it’s always helpful to know what you’re planning to bring, and you can let us know here). We will not have access to electricity. If you plan to bring a hot dish, it will only need to stay hot/warm for about an hour—crock pots will do the trick. We will provide table service and bottled water to drink. If you’d like something else to drink, bring it. Beer and wine is fine.
Chairs: Beach chairs or “soccer” chairs best.
Corn Hole, if you’ve got it, and toys for kids.
Sunscreen and hand sanitizer.
Directions: The small, unnamed road to the Annapolis Roads Overlook is directly across from the house located at: 2561 Carrollton Rd, Annapolis, MD 21403. Road is marked 'Private - No Trespassing,' but it's the right one! The road will be on your left; turn onto it and drive a few hundred yards and the gravel parking lot will be on the left. From there, just follow the gravel path down to the Overlook - you'll be able to see the water from the path!
