Pentecost and Farewell Picnic for Ian
This Sunday, we celebrate the birth of the Christian church at Pentecost. The coming of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples as Jesus promised changed not only the disciples, but the world. A group of humble men and women had the Spirit come upon them and they became empowered in ways that their education, culture, or experiences would never have predicted. It is not just them, but all Christians can be empowered and transformed by the power of the Spirit. For that, we can be thankful.
We will celebrate Pentecost this Sunday, and Ian will preach his final sermon at Redeemer. I really hope you’ll join us, even though we might see a cicada or two (they don’t bite).
Also this Sunday, we say farewell to Ian J. Burgess, our Pastoral Assistant. Please come and worship outdoors and bring a lunch for yourself or your family and we can share fellowship and send Ian off well.
From Tim Miller, on behalf of the Miller family:
“WOW!!! We were completely blown away (and still are) by the generosity of the Redeemer family. I just really don’t have words to express our gratitude at the thoughtfulness of you all.
With my work at the Academy taking me away now every Sunday, unfortunately we do not see you all as often as we would like. The fact that, even still, you gave so much is quite remarkable and such a blessing to us.
Thank you so very kindly!

We Really Do Need Your Help!
Thank you to all who have signed up for different jobs to help our services happen. We can’t do it without you. There are a few areas where help is really needed:
Children’s Formation: Karissa has been working hard to provide programs for children whether they are in person or worshipping virtually and she needs your help to continue to do so — it is not a one person job and we have many children in our midst! Please prayerfully consider volunteering — the more people who volunteer means that no one person has to serve every week!
Hospitality: Greeters and (eventually) Coffee Ambassadors.
