Lenten Home Groups
Dear Redeemer Family,
We are so excited to invite you all to join our Lenten home groups this season. We anticipate a rich time of learning,
reflection, and engagement with Scripture and each other.
Who: Becca Engstrom will be leading each session as she’s described below.
When: 8 weeks beginning the first full week of February.
Please reply to Kaarin Engstrom with your availability for the following evenings:

Are We Mature?
Hebrews 5:14 says, “But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.”
What does maturity look like at each stage of life? Is it something I work on or is it earned just by having life experience?
As a Christian, is maturity a gift of grace? Do I have a role in acquiring “solid food”? How does my human maturity relate to my spiritual growth?
What is the role of my community in the maturity process?
We will explore these questions as we learn about the five-stage maturity pathway (Infant, Child, Adult, Parent, and Elder). Each stage is characterized by personal, family, and community tasks that must be completed to establish our identities and form strong bonds.
But what happens when those tasks are unfulfilled or uneven? After all, we live in a fallen world. What can we do to address the gaps? And how do we help one another become mature?
During our time of study together, we’ll develop a common language about human maturity and its essential role in our Christian growth. As importantly, we’ll create time for self-examination during our Lenten season, gaining new perspectives that enrich our prayer, our experience of God’s healing and repair, and our capacity to serve others.
