For You
For You
Have you ever had someone in your life you just knew, with every fiber of your being, was for you? No matter what? It’s a remarkable thing. It changes you. It strengthens and encourages you, and it brings you joy and hope.
Jonathan Edwards, one of America’s most important and original theologians famously wrote: “All doctrine is application, and all application is doctrine.”
In other words, what you fundamentally believe about God affects everything about how you live; how you live is evidence of what you fundamentally believe about God. How you manage your anxiety, how you deal with your insecurities, how you handle adversity, how you wrestle with a guilty conscience, how you relate to people, how you view your work, and so on.
And what Paul wants you to fundamentally know about God in this week’s epistle reading is this: He is for you.
See you Sunday.
