Same, But Different
Like an analog clock at noon and midnight, the “time” is the same, but a lot’s gone on in the 12 hours between.
That feeling of same-but-different, of coming around the circle and ending up where we started, is what John intends us to have as his book comes to its conclusion.
‘My Lord,’ Thomas says, ‘and my God!’ He is the first person in this book to look at Jesus of Nazareth and address the word ‘God’ directly to him. Yet this is what John's been working around to from the beginning.
Warmer, Safer, Dryer
That’s Appalachian Service Projects mission and we’re taking a team to join them in it, June 24-29. We’ll be painting new construction, so anyone, at any skill level can participate. We’ve received a generous scholarship, so cost should not be al limiting factor for you. If you’re interested in joining us, pleas contact Doug Gillikin. Respond quickly, though, we can only accommodate a team of 12.
Bingo Night at the Light House
Tonight (April 26) from 7pm we’ll play bingo and eat pizza with the residents of the Light House Homeless Prevention Center. Last month we had over 20 people join in! We usually stay until around 8:30. This is a family friendly and inclusive activity and I would be thrilled if you’d consider joining in. Email Ian to RSVP firstname.lastname@example.org
We also ask that you consider donating toward the cost of the prizes (gift cards) and refreshments. You can give here, clicking the green ‘give’ button and choosing ‘Local Mission’ from the dropdown list.
