Feast Day

Here’s a question: Do you know why Sundays during Lent are called “in” and not “of” (as they are during Advent)?

Because Lent is a season of fasting modeled on Jesus’ 40-day fast in the wilderness, and Sundays are always feast days...never fast days. It is, after all, the day we gather at the Lord’s Table.

And guess what? This Sunday we get to enjoy even more feast together than usual: Redeemer’s 5th Sunday Potluck.

I sincerely hope you’ll join us as we feast, not only on great food, but also on each other’s company. It’s important that you’re there.

You can let us know what you’ll bring to share here.

ASP (Appalachian Service Project)

Warmer. Safer. Drier. That’s Appalachian Service Project’s simple mission to some of America’s poorest citizens.

Please consider joining Team Redeemer as we head to Johnson City, TN June 24-29 to help paint a home that’s just been constructed with and for a family in serious need.

The cost per person is $325, which includes lodging and meals while we’re there. You can contact Doug Gillikin for more information.

Lauren and I went a couple of years ago and are returning this year. It’s a paradigm-shifting experience, guaranteed.

See you Sunday.
